ASL/MNA Bargaining Summary - Day 6

June 26, 2025

Hello,

We began our sixth day of bargaining by answering questions about our economic proposal. As I’ve previously shared, our intent is to come to agreement on a contract with the MNA that keeps health care affordable and accessible for our patients and communities, while recognizing the dedication and passion our entire team puts into the care they provide.

We don’t expect the MNA to agree to everything we put on the table, and the MNA shouldn’t expect us to agree to everything they propose. That’s what bargaining is all about. Today’s session showed that we still have a lot of work to do, but both sides exchanged a series of proposals and agreed to a seventh bargaining session on Monday, June 30.

We remain hopeful that we can avoid a strike. The money we spend on strike coverage is money we can’t spend on our employees and patients.

We don’t disagree that there have been staffing challenges, and we have heard the concerns raised by nurses. But we cannot change our position on staffing ratios. Let’s keep working on a solution we can all agree on.

If you would like to learn more, we continue to update CareForAllFairForAll.com with new, detailed information on the negotiations.

Sincerely,

Theresa Hannu, CNO

and the Bargaining Team
